DropBox DropBox
I have two DropBox accounts: one I use for my personal files and another for a small business. I recently found a need to have access to both accounts at all times. Seeing that I had already configured my MacBook with my personal DropBox account, I used the web browser to access the business account.
Very quickly, this became tedious. I wanted a way to access both from my desktop and have the files sync depending on where I dropped the files.
Here is how I did it:
1. Launch Terminal
2. Type “bash” to run Bash (if you aren’t already using Bash).
3. Type “bash HOME=$HOME/.dropbox-alt /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox &”
4. The previous step will spit out a number at you. Type “disown” and then the number you get from step 3.
5. Set up your “other” DropBox account.
Nifty trick! Now you can have two cloudsinstead of just one!
