My heart is afraid to suffer
When you let go.
This is taken from one of my favorite novelists articles, Paulo Coelho. From the book “The Alchemist”
“Why do we have to listen to our hearts?” the boy asked, when they had made camp that day.
“Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you’ll find your treasure.”
“But my heart is agitated,” the boy said. “It has its dreams, it gets emotional, and it’s become passionate over a woman of the desert. It asks things of me, and it keeps me from sleeping many nights, when I’m thinking about her.”
“Well, that’s good. Your heart is alive. Keep listening to what it has to say.”
“My heart is a traitor,” the boy said to the alchemist, when they had paused to rest the horses. “It doesn’t want me to go on.”
“That makes sense. Naturally it’s afraid that, in pursuing your dream, you might lose everything you’ve won.”
“Well, then, why should I listen to my heart?”
“Because you will never again be able to keep it quiet. ”
“You mean I should listen, even if it’s treasonous?”
“Treason is a blow that comes unexpectedly. If you know your heart well, it will never be able to do that to you. Because you’ll know its dreams and wishes, and will know how to deal with them.
“My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer,” the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.
“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”

TweetSteve Jobs Biography Amazon’s Top Seller for 2011
A biography of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was Amazon’s best-selling book this year despite hitting store shelves and electronic readers only in late October, Amazon said Monday.

“Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson, which went on sale on October 24, less than three weeks after Job’s death, topped the list of Amazon top-selling books for 2011, print and Kindle editions combined, the Seattle-based company said.
“Even though it was published in October, the sales have been phenomenal in both formats,” saidChris Schluep, Amazon’s senior editor of books.
Next on the list was “Bossypants” by comedian Tina Fey and “A Stolen Life” by Jaycee Dugard, a California girl who was kidnapped as a child and held for nearly two decades.
Number four on the top 10 list was “The Mill River Recluse,” a self-published Kindle novel by Darcie Chan.
“In the Garden of the Beasts” by Erik Larson was next, followed by “A Dance with Dragons” by George R.R. Martin, “The Paris Wife” by Paula McLain and “The Litigators” by John Grisham.
Another self-published Kindle book, “The Abbey” by Chris Culver, was number nine on the list while “Inheritance (The Inheritance Cycle)” by Christopher Paolini rounded out the top 10.
Amazon did not release exact sales figures for the titles.

TweetEveryone Worth Knowing
For all of you book loving fashionistas who are interested in what goes on behind the VIP clubbing scene and in PR agencies in New York, this books for you.
Lauren Weisberger (one of my favorite authors I might add) who brought us The Devil Wears Prada and Chasing Harry Winston, writes once again an amazing best selling book Everyone Worth Knowing.
Not only does the humor and story line keeping you wanting more but the characters and New York life style reminds you of the good ol’ ” Sex and the City” days.
I highly recommend reading it.
Happy reading!

Still one of my favs along with A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled hosseini. Also, Atonment by Ian McEwan I loved both the book and the movie! Mrs.Dalloway by Virgina Wolf, The death of the heart by Elizabeth Bowen, and of course all the classics.
