Kerala, India 2016

My trip to Kerala was sponsored by GatewayMalabar Holidays,  a company that have people on ground both in India and in Dubai . They planned my trip from the moment I arrived, until the moment I was dropped back to the airport. Below, you could see my route in Kerala!

Visa to India

Kuwaiti nationals do need a visa to India. You can get it by visiting Behbehani tower in Kuwait City.

Mararikulam

known also by the name Marari Beach or Mararikulam beach. It’s a beach area (Not a beach that i’d recommend to go specifically for swimming), but its on the beach!

This beach in Kerala is eternal with coconut palm trees and golden sands. Marari is a peaceful place to relax and chill out. Adventure freaks can also choose for sea surfing, parasailing, water skiing, and deep sea fishing.

I haven’t done any particular activities in Marari but this is what I found out about things to do:

Mararikulam Shiva Temple, Kokkamangalam Apostle St. Thomas Pilgrim Centre, Thumpolly Beach, Thiruvizha temple, Aroor park.

Kumarakum

Kumarakom is a village on Vembanad Lake in the backwaters of Kerala, southern India.Kumarakom enjoys a well-balanced tropical climate. I liked Kumarakom a lot.

The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals and waterways

Thekkady

In my opinion, the higher we went up the mountain, the prettier it got for me! Thekkady was where the spices and spice village was! Loved this place!

This area is located in Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India.

Thekkady, is considered to be in the country side with rich plantations & thick jungles. I recommend a two night visit to this place

Thekkady to Munnar (105km/3.5hrs)

Munnar

I think Munnar was my favorite! It had more activities to do, we also saw the tea plantations which were beautiful. Additionally, we’ve watched a marshall art show. So I really liked Munnar a lot!

Munnar is a beautiful hill station, and was the summer resort of the British. Tourists come here to see the vast tea plantations of the area. The town itself is typically Indian with the usual shops, guest houses and is really beautiful and traditional. It is a good place to stay to see the surrounding countryside. It is also a popular place for Indian honeymooners.
