Alila Anji, China | Hello965Hotels

Anji

Anji County is a county in the prefecture-level city of Huzhou in northwestern Zhejiang province, People’s Republic of China.

Anji white tea is a green tea produced in Anji. It is called “white” tea although it is a green tea.

To reach Anji, we took a train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Hangzhou (45 mins), and a drive from Hongzou to Anji (around 2 hours).

My visit to Alila Anji came at the end of my Asia Tour/ China stop before heading back home. My trip was very active, so this was really a great way to chill, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views in the country side!

The team of @hello965hotels was welcomed to Alila Anji by the Marketing team headed by the lovely Ms Wendy, and the GM of Alila Mr Marco!

Hello965 Hotels Experience

Welcome & Reception

Warm, tranquil and heartfelt. The three words that summed up our feelings upon our arrival. We were welcomed with traditional mini Anji white tea ceremony and soothing hot towels.

All the paper work was promptly prepared for us to sign and receive our 2 villas. We were then driven via the golf cart through the lush bamboo plantation.

We were happy to hear upon arrival that the Wi-Fi in Alila Anji is open (All social media applications and websites are accessible). For us, this is a huge plus as we had a lot of work to finish during our stay.

Villas & Amenities

We were provided by two absolutely stunning, spacious, modern one bed-room lake view villas. The minute we stepped into the Villa, it immediately took our breath away. It really exceeded our expectations with the layout, the spaciousness as well as the views.

Our villas included a living room, a king size bed, A flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a private bathroom with a hot tub, slippers and free toiletries for ‘him’ and ‘her’ (TOO CUTE!). Each Villa also included a patio with an outdoors seating area, overlooking a lake view.

Room service, was super fun! Orders are placed via the flat TV screen and gets sent automatically to the kitchen.

Further, there is an in-villa coffee machine, mini bar, and other tea amenities. We enjoyed very much having our coffee in-villa and on the patio!

Food

We enjoyed all three meals at the resort: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast: Buffet with plenty of options – For us, as muslims, our options were a bit  limited as most of the options provided included pork. Otherwise, everything looked amazing.

Lunch & Dinner: Our lunches and dinners were so delicious! We tried steaks, seafood, vegetarian, as well as Chinese dishes. All were AMAZING.

There are two restaurants in the resort: The Lake and Hidden Dragon.

We were escorted in a private car to a nearby village with a tea plantation to experience first hand the tea picking experience.  We were happy to interact with the locals and were served freshly baked steamed buns along with white tea.  The tour lasted for an hour and a half.  We truly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
