Helpful Travel Applications

I love applications, and especially those that help make life easier. Here are a few applications I’ve personally used or plan to use that I find very helpful for travel in general.

  • Trip It (Travel Planner App –  يساعد بترتيب التخطيط و الحجوزات بشكل بسيط)

TripIt is a travel planning app that gives you a single view of all your travel plans. No matter where you travel, TripIt is ready. TripIt has helped me a lot especially when I have multiple trips coming up soon and planning for those trips get hectic. I sometimes lose track of where are the confirmations, times and so on. Trip It helps when it comes to these things; when it comes to finding the email confirmations and keeping track of your schedules. I recommend it!

  • Split-wise (Split bills the easy way – يساعد بالتخطيط المالي وتقسيم التكاليف )

Splitwise is a free tool for friends and roommates to track bills and other shared expenses, so that everyone gets paid back. I often make reservations for more than 1 person at the same time also some of the group members would make payments of other items within the trip (Flights, trains, restaurants, etc.). For that, I find Splitwise extremely handy when it comes to splitting cost and calculating balances; it takes away a big headache to settle the costs between us and those who paid!

  • Rome2Rio (Transport Search Engine – يساعد في البحث عن أفضل وسائل التنقل بين الأماكن/المناطق/الدول)

I like this app alot in the planning phase to any country. It helps me find routes as well as explore methods of transport between places. Let’s say If I want to go from Kuwait to country X, it will tell me if I can go by plane, boat, car and so on. When I have no clue about the destinations & how to connect – Rome2Rio is my first click!

  • Roadtrippers (Roadtrip planning تساعد بالتخطيط لرحلات السياره)

This is an app I haven’t used before only because I didn’t know it existed! I downloaded it after I read about it and started exploring the available Ultimate Routes. It basically tells you what to see along the way and how far is each point from the other. I think this is very helpful especially for those who like road trips. (available countries; Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA). I wish I had known about this app when I was in NZ Ive done PLENTY of research for road tripping haha. Never too late though!

  • Uber (Taxi! تاكسي)

I like that Uber is almost in every country. Simply enter your pickup and drop-off locations and select your ride option. I would advise you to download It, set up the app and whatever you need PRIOR to your trip. Other app options for taxi serve are  LyftGrab, Cabify, Taxify, Careem or Gett instead.

  • Viator (A trip advisor app) & GetYourGuide (a Berlin-based online travel agency and online marketplace) – حجوزات الانشطه بالسفر

Both these applications have similar use. They pull the available activities, experiences and attractions you might want to explore while you’re in a country. I book plenty of my activities while traveling through one of them mostly. For Kuwait, you can start exploring with www.helloexplorer.com 🙂
