Royal Mansour Marrakech | Hello965

In the heart of one of the world’s most captivating cities.. No joke, this hotel is so far my best hotel experience i’ve yet to encounter in YEARS and YEARS. Its just perfection. Everything was on point. I don’t know where to start?

ABOUT THE HOTEL

Royal Mansour is located in Marrakech, and is part of Leading Hotels of the World,  and is a 5 star luxury hotel and spa with private riads and fine dining. Riad is basically what they call a typical moroccan home/house.

The owners of the Royal Mansour Marrakech wanted to celebrate architecture, ancestral knowledge and culinary arts as well as an innate sense of beauty which is part of the country’s heritage.

In a nutshell it offers an outdoor and indoor pool as a public use, a spa that is featured almost in every instagram account for its beautiful design, a couple of great restaurant options including a Moroccan cuisine, bar, a tea lounge where I spent some time starting to write this post and more. Every section is a beauty and every corner is a photographer’s heaven for sure.

Restaurants in property:

– La Grande Table Francaise (only for dinner)

– La Grande Table Marocaine

– La Table (lunch is possible, serving all day)

In the hotel, there are a total of 53 Riads (private residences) of one to four rooms, each said to be uniquely decorated (ours was thats for sure) and lavishly appointed in regard of Moroccan authenticity. Before arriving I read that each riad has a distinctive character where beautiful fabrics of silks and brocades, original and contemporary works of art compliment the finest custom made furniture. I was not disappointed that’s for sure.

Arrival

I usually don’t mention the arrival because it’s just like any other expected arrival from hotels which is usually the standard. For Royal Mansour, We were treated with luxury even with being picked up with a luxury car, wifi-on board, cold towels, water, candy and the friendliest driver. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the Marketing team as they were expecting my arrival and introduced to the responsible person who will show us around.

We were immediately given a brief about the location of everything in Royal Mansour (that said, i kept on getting lost for a day! haha it’s like a beautiful maze). After a clear explanation of the property, we were then escorted to our Riad.

[Riad: A word for a typical moroccan home]

We were then escorted through the gardens to our private residence.

ABOUT THE RIAD

I entered to a 3 level piece of art! The ground floor starts with the patio, which is in every typical moroccan home. On the ground floor is a central courtyard surrounding a living room, a bar, a kitchen as well as a hall and the outdoor patio has a cute seating area too.

The rooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. On the last floor/roof we found a plunge pool, a lovely tented area and a fireplace on the rooftop private terrace overlooking the city of Marrakech. Just beautiful.

I must say, this is an important factor especially to me and needs highlighting; the speed of the internet is excellent. I was so inspired to take pictures in every corner (and I did!), if you follow me on snapchat and instagram you’d probably seen the flood of pictures I posted about this place.

The service is just lovely here. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and ready to help. Attention to details is in everything, from room service, to your butler service, to the luggage service to the cleaning and house keeping. There are service doors in every floor so the cleaning and access processes are easier instead of having to go all the way down every single time to let someone in or answer the door. I absolutely love this bit.

LOCATION

Medina is a great choice for travellers interested in markets, street marketsand shopping!

The location is great as it is only 2 km from Bahia Palace and a 5-minute walk from the famous Djemaa El Fna square. It is 2 km from Conference Palace and from Majorelle Gardens. Marrakech-Menara Airport is a 15-minute drive away.

We actually walked to places nearby, it was a good walk. For places further which we experienced, it was very easy to ask the hotel to organize a taxi pick-up, with a pre-set/pre-discussed price most of the time. The hotel also offers to provide you with their beautiful luxurious cars for a fee.

During my stay I wanted to see stuff around aside from enjoying the property. One activity I’ve had the concierge plan for us at the hotel, they’ve got us an amazing lady who guided us around and gave us a lot of great information about Morocco. She also gave us tips and recommendations on where to eat, where to watch sunset and other stuff to do in Marrakech. The other activity was a visit to the mountain, and that I’ve planned myself from Viator. It depends on what you prefer, but both options are available!

KEY SITES/ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA:

Jamaa El Fna Square

Jardin Majorelle

Saadien Tombs

Ourika Vallée

IN SHORT: I cannot describe enough this place, you need to go and experience it yourself!!

Much Love,

Fatima
